Say Hi to our Brand New Web Site!

Welcome to Millwarra Primary School's shiny new web site. Recognising that our old site was looking a little dusty and wasn't very useful, we've decided to update our internet presence with a new, dynamic web site that will enable us to keep you all up to date with what's happening around our school as well as showing prospective parents and students that Millwarra is the place to be!

Welcome to Millwarra!
Millgrove Administration BlockMillwarra Primary School is a multi-site school situated in a semi-rural area in the Upper Yarra Valley, 70 kilometres from Melbourne. It is the only dual campus Primary School in Eastern Region. This enables flexibility of staff which is critical in the provision of specialist programs. Students have access to resources of both campuses. The two school sites, one at Millgrove and the other at Warburton East, are approximately nine kilometres apart, with the township of Warburton in between. The school administration is centred at the Millgrove site.

The current total enrolment of the school is 138, with 84 at Warburton East and 54 students at Millgrove campus. Current enrolment growth at the Warburton East campus reflects a trend that has occurred in recent years of increased enrolments.

The school provides a balanced, comprehensive curriculum across the key learning areas including an integrated approach to curriculum planning and delivery.

Warburton East PlaygroundSpecialist teachers provide programs in the Visual Arts, Physical Education, Library, Music and in LOTE-Japanese. Special assistance is provided to students through the integration program and other support services. The school is a leader in the delivery of additional assistance programs to support and develop the literacy skills of students, through the provision of the Bridges Early and Middle Years program and Classroom Helpers Programs. All curriculum programs and administration are supported and enhanced by the latest development in learning technologies.

To support the curriculum areas, enrichment programs are provided in Life Education, swimming, camping, inter-school sport and sports clinics, the Perceptual Motor Program (PMP), school production or school concert, Junior School Council, parent education and participation programs and extension activities for gifted students.

In recognition of citizenship a monthly sponsored award is given to a student from each campus and student academic, sporting and personal achievement are formally acknowledged. The school incorporates the Values program into the school’s operations.

Millwarra’s Welfare program is supported by the services of the school’s own chaplain, a student welfare teacher and a team of caring professional personnel.

Millwarra Primary School has spacious, attractive and well-maintained grounds and modern play equipment at both sites, and with a recent addition of a large shade structure at the Millgrove campus.

Millgrove has a modern administration building. The Warburton East campus, although upgraded with a new portable is looking toward either further upgrading or redevelopment in the near future. Millgrove campus has a multi-purpose/fire refuge room, a well-stocked library, an art room and four portable classrooms. The Warburton East campus, has a fire refuge room, a library room, an art room and six classrooms.
